At the risk of starting a flame war, you can tell him it’s the Republicans’ fault. In the Japanese system, anyone can waltz in and see a doctor without an appointment. They may have to wait a couple of hours, but not seven months.

In Canada, one goes to a hospital’s Emergency department whenever time is a factor.

Treesaurus, got any more made-up statistics? That one was pretty good.BTW, any doctor’s officecan implement same-day scheduling, but most office managers won’t do it, because it’s more difficult.

A nice comic and Charles Smith decides to talk politics.

You must get all your news off fox noise. They tell lies about these things ALL the Time.

Have you even read what is in it for all of us?

Someone who believes in death panels won’t hear a word I say, but you really ought to find out whats in it.

Too, it was a republican idea to have this mandate. It was written up at the Heritage Foundation. Romney was one of it’s main backers.THe only reason it still isn’t a republican thing is Obama agreed with them about it. Of course they just COULDN’T let themselves agree with him.

@Gess Who I hope when you mean healthcare providers you are referring to insurance companies. Healthcare providers are the drs, nurs, physician assistants, etc. It’s the health insurance companies that deny coverage to people with pre-existing conditions. I used to work for an insurance company that sold health insurance. We covered people with pre-existing conditions, but we didn’t pay for that particular care until a year after they were on the plan. I don’t know if there are any others that do the same, but a good number of them won’t take them on at all. With obamacare, you have to get covered or get taxed, which the Supreme Court decided what the “fine” really was.

@gregC6If you aren’t working you fall into the bracket that doesn’t have to get insurance coverage because you have no money to pay for it.

@johnbeatyTreesareus has it right. I read it a while ago in the local paper. There are many doctors who are seriously considering selling their practices when or before obamacare takes effect. Some who might have considered a medical profession will change their minds.

What makes it worse, some politician I can’t remember the name of now, had it put in there that those in federal government don’t have to sign up for this. Something I didn’t know until I read today’s paper. Now that this news is out in the public eye, there’s going to be a stink about it and people writing their representatives and congresspersons to do something about it. If the general public has to put up with this boondoogle, so should they.

A similar situation for me. But it was the receptionist who wouldn’t make an earlier appointment. Sometimes it isn’t the doctor, but the front desk that assumes powers that don’t belong to them.
