since the advent of the ubiquitous smart phones, people assume that folks talking to themselves are on the phone.

People tell me that it’s okay to talk to myself, as long as I don’t answer. I tell them that not answering would be rude. I also explain that when I talk to myself, I’m guaranteed intelligent conversation.
