I will happily trade my firework-loving neighbors for a bagpiper. Any day. I like bagpipes, but don’t like being startled by unexpected explosions. They are extremely loud to even call the “fireworks.”
When I was a music student at Penn State, someone came into the practice rooms to play bagpipes. You literally couldn’t hear anything else on the entire first floor. He only was there once, for some reason . . .

When my child got her first college degree the ceremony included bagpipes and drums. It was beautiful!
