I know lots of people who sleep like that. I have a different routine, but we sleep better when we do the same thing when we go to bed every night. Our bodies learn that it’s time to go to sleep as we follow our routine.
We have on our bed flannel sheets and two blankets, but alo have a fan on that cools the room to just 10F above outside temp (44F at the moment). We sleep soundly surrounded by cold air.

Sticking a foot out from under the covers, regulates the body temperature. It is easier than trying to regulate the electric blanket control.
