When am I going to have to read really small print WHILE I’m driving? If I need to look at a map. I’ll pull over, or better still, I’ll just ask Google. Never understood the purpose of that test.

Here in France, permit de conduit (driver’s license) is for life. Really! No renewal! I have my American passport, Dutch passport, and French permit, happy as Larry, moi. Bob’s your uncle!

I would fail a driving test if I took it today.

My late husband had amblyopia — he used one eye at a time, unlike the “normal” coordination of both eyes. The last time he took an eye test for a driver’s license, he asked the examiner “Which eye should I use?” Completely freaked her out.

Many states do have vision tests for seniors – don’t know the age at which that is required however. It is not so much the vision I worry about it is the mentality, awarenes of what is happening and responding to it.

There should be a colour test so that those that refuse to acknowledge RED can be educated on the placement, common shapes and purpose of.

It’s the memory part of the test that scares me. The vision part I can handle with my special 10X glasses.
