Pill bottles and the like requiring squeeze and turn or press down and turn or hold down the tab and turn. Infuriating. As soon as I get one, I operate on it and remove all that claptrap and get back to “normal”.
Worse: containers of toxic liquids like bleach or weed killer. I don’t want to handle the tiny foil cover or stab it with anything and have it splash on me.

One of the reasons why I just use oil and vinegar now…

A utility knife does a good job. Or a good stab with a pair of scissors. For tabasco sauce, an ice pick!

I find if you run the top under hot water for a minute it eases it.

Same here.

I live at altitude. It’s even worse here because of the pressure difference between the contents and the air. I stab those with a knife.

That has been one of my biggest gripes lately. It gets so frustrating. How are you supposed to use it if you can’t get it open?

It’s not the cap… it’s the seal under the cap. They leave no edge or tab to grab. And it’s not just on salad dressing bottles..
