I almost died when I was eight-years-old. I had Mono and my doctor gave me Penicillin. I was deathly allergic to it and rushed me to the hospital. I remember it still to this day. It was the most peaceful sleep I ever had.
No blood, no foul. Wash it off, stick a bandaid on it & life goes on. I was taking care of all minor mishaps by myself, by the time I was 10 years old.
Our house motto was “kid, heal thyself”. My mother made me go to school with a hairline skull fracture. Her defense was that my brother, who had health issues, needed all her attention and that I was old enough to take care of myself. Neither my father, teacher, or the doctor were amused.
