I might be able to taste that air. Due, I think, to sinus operations when I was a very young lad, I can smell nothing. But my sense of taste works great and I can taste the difference between things I shouldn’t be able to. And I can taste strong organic odors.I suspect the operations going up through my nose killed that part of the sense of smell, but that part that goes up through the passage from the mouth to the nose works for smelling and since I learned to rely on that, I can pass all those blindfolded, nose plugged taste tests people aren’t supposed to be able to pass. I know this because when I was a teen, my dad didn’t believe me about tasting stuff and gave me those tests.

Do those things actually smell anything like what they’re supposed to?
