Earthbound on SNES was the first game I remember reminding me to take a break. Every couple of hours your in-game cell phone would ring and your in-game dad would say you’ve been going pretty hard at it and urge you to take a break.
Except in the Winter months, we played outside and rode our bikes every day of course that was before 24/7 TV programming. Our Mothers did not want us inside underfoot anyway. You could hear the Mothers throughout the blocks calling for their children to come in to wash up for dinner.

At one time way before the dawn of “Pong”, the outside fresh air game was one of the more popular games…

It’s not safe to go outside anymore. :(

The outside game has impressive graphics but seems to be stuck on the “HARD” difficulty level.

What is this “safe” you are referring to?
Screaming_goat over 4 years ago
Yes, because kids obviously have no idea what the outside is. Ok boomer

My brothers and I played outside from dawn till dusk; as much to avoid chores as anything.

And once outdoors maybe they will discover bicycles, skateboards, and the frogs in that creek down at the end of the block.
