Oh, the “No news is good news” scenario.

There is something blissful about ignorance.

Hence sitting here with my coffee, reading comics.

I should be more like that

Best part of the day. Comics first, life later.

In my best Yoda voice, “Very wise, this one is.”

I go walking with one of my cats for about twenty minutes at 6:00 am. It’s relatively quiet. Following her attention gets me back in touch with the immediate world around me. When she catches sight of a gopher and goes on the fast-stalk, nobody can think about the situation in China.

That approach used to work for me, but those days are gone. Now I wake each morning with the feeling of anxiety already pre-loaded.

But there’s always someone who insists on telling me….

I guess I’m the opposite. I see if I can contact someone in New Zealand or Australia to see if the next day is worth getting up for.

I’d be a lot happier if I did that. But I read the newspaper online when I get up. Guess I’m afraid I will miss out on something if I stop reading the news.

Coffee goes well with that, I know……

Wait three minutes.

“So get that newspaper out of here or there’s going to be trouble!”

what, me worry…?

“Ahhhh! I haven’t heard about anyone sweeping away settled law in order to remove anyone’s basic human rights today! Life is good. . . so far. . .”
