My first operation, years ago, was an appendectomy performed by the older brother of one of my classmates. (Still here!)

So if the doc is an OB/GYN shouldn’t he be watching Tube Tied vids?

The Florida surgeon who mistakenly removed someone’s liver probably should have listened to that advice. I’m still gobsmacked.

Unfortunately, most how-to videos are not well-edited. The first 10% is introducing the videographer, the next 20% is background on the history of the hammer (scalpel, whatever), some hand-waving glossing over pertinent details, some corrections to wrong instructions given earlier in the video, and ending with another 10% soliciting one to subscribe.

When I’m performing an operation on my car, I go back to the video repeatedly. The car doesn’t mind.

They guy in Florida getting his liver taken out instead of his spleen may be a one in a million accident. But it’s going to put a lot of people off having an operation.
