You will all appreciate Elly when she returns home. Of course it will only be for a few hours then everything returns to normal.

Think of it as charactering building and bonding combined.

At least this character-building/bonding is much easier than the version favoured by Calvin’s dad (remember the camping-in-pouring-rain strips?).

I wonder how Elly’s doing. Are they gonna show us her visit to her family or is it gonna be all about John and the kids?

Six sleeps for the kiddies, no sleeps for John.

I know the point of this is to show John with the kids and all the work involved, but–why didn’t Elly’s parents want to see their grandchildren? She could have taken Elizabeth with her. I know this gives them some adult time, but they never get to see the little ones!

Elly REALLY needed some time away from the kids. I was able to do this same thing for my wife a couple times and enjoyed it

How about doing some housework?

My husband & I joked when the kids were younger that we couldn’t get a divorce, because neither one of us wanted to take the kids. (Even though I’ve been a “stay-at-home” mom & homeschooled them, I wouldn’t want to do it as a single parent!)

Did John as a daddy read Michael and Lizzie the bedtime story book? Don’t expect about their wet in your bed while they and you sleep.
