And maybe if they’re good boys, and eat ALL their vegetables, Ted can sleep over…can he mom? Huh, can he???
Wasn’t John just complaining he had no friends? And now all of a sudden he’s dragging Ted home for supper, totally unplanned? I think this moron has no consideration for Ellie’s feelings and based on previous comments ( I am sort of new to the strip, I only read it very occassionally before because we didn’t get the newspaper) then he should be aware how Ellie feels about Ted. But, this is John who loved those ghastly pants a few weeks back…
hey, notinksanymore, you’re right! So Ted should bring something! Or maybe they call leftovers ‘potluck’ in Canada …
any Canadians reading these comments?
Hello, Canadians! Nice to hear from you!
Of course, I figured there would be Canadian fans - for obvious reasons.
And thank you, Howtheduck, for the etymological discourse! Very enlightening.

Give Ted some extra of the “risky” part.
Didn’t someone predict this?

I’m confused. Doesn’t potluck mean everyone brings a dish?

the only “dish” a guy like Ted would bring is a dinner plate.

Ted’s version of potluck? He’ll bring a 12-pack of Molson.
Wildmustang1262 over 14 years ago
Elly, you got that right! Give Ted a bad potluck for himself!

Ted’s version of a dish would be a woman, but since he’s such a jerk, she would be no lady, or maybe a lady of the night.

Would someone mind explaining what exactly the joke is? I’m a kid and I’ve never heard it before. Thanks!

@PNmom06;
Yes. There are Canadians. A few of us.
Hint: look for words like “favourite”.
