On an application for volunteer work at the hospital I was required to submit proof of measles and mumps vaccination. Sorry, I was born too soon. Do you want to see my mother’s one arm to prove she was born to soon for SALK? Yes I had measles, mumps and chicken pox as a child. Didn’t everyone? How bouts something serious like smallpox? Oh, you don’t require that? You want me to pay for a TB x ray because I served in the war? Sorry, I’ll go back to literacy volunteers.
When I had pneumonia, Mom gave me 3 aspirin. Survived.
@furnituremaker - I agree. My best friend is a second grade teacher and I thought she was never going to have kids. But she now has two little ones amazingly enough. Teachers put up with a lot and should get paid more.
Hey Lewreader, wasn’t the person at the hospital smart enough to know that? I always said if you think the people you work with are stupid, remember the same ones work at hospitals and other places where you life and health is at risk.

I hate the first month of school. Even at the college level, the kids are plague carriers…

LOL, howtheduck!!! I’m with you! :-)
The really gross-looking plague words floating above their heads look way worse than the actual symptoms they’re displaying. Yuck!!!!!

That’s how life was at our house by mid-September, and it lasted until sometime in November. :P
