In real life, the kid would have had his butt parked in front of a video game. At least he was reading a comic book.

Mike is just a kid being a kid. He’ll grow out of it. I (almost) have. :-)

You weren’t paying attention, Michael. Plus, it would have helped if John had told rather than asked. “C’mon, let’s go toss a ball”works better than“Wanna toss a ball?”Kids usually say no to questions the first time they’re asked anyway (unless the question is “Who wants this free toy?” or “Anyone want this candy?”)

Michael is a typical MALE. We don’t like to change hats quickly. He is totally engrossed in that comic book and it would take a very interesting alternative to get him out of it. He obviously doesn’t even remember his dad making the offers. It’s the way we are.

Michael’s like me as a kid, just wanting to stay indoors with my nose in a book.

Mike was so engrossed in his comix that he didn’t hear his dad at all.

My dad’s idea about making me get my nose out of a book was to go do yard work that he should have been doing(or at least help). I learned how to disappear when mom wasn’t around.

    pretty sad, huh?

Substitute a cell phone or a video game for the comic book and this would be a typical kid today . . . and some adults too!

With a son like that, it makes Jason Fox, Lio and Baldo seem like grat sons………I find that Charlie Brown would feel better with John.
