What is it about wives turning their husbands into their children????Why doesn’t she at least coordinate his suit-coats, ties, and shirts while they’re still in the closet, like other women do for their SO’s?
Women always wait until you are dressed before they start criticizing your appearance. They have a keen ability to generate the most irritation for the least effort.
It’s red/green blue/yellow. I know because that’s my BIL. He bought a compound bow, thinking it was navy blue. It was months before someone had the heart to tell him it was hot pink.
And if she said nothing, she would have gotten all sorts of flak for allowing him to wear that. Been there. I say very little about what my husband wears, but if there is any issue, the wife gets an earful. My father was a dentist and admitted that he didn’t know how to match things properly. He appreciated any input we had for him, and came to find us for feedback.
Elly reminds me of my mother. She always chose for me what to wear. Sometimes I would have to change out of something to wear what pleased her. I didn’t know about assertiveness then. John need to learn it right now!
My husband wouldn’t be caught dead with a pattern (though he did have a yellow and blue checked vest about thirty to forty years ago). It’s all plain tan, gray, and forest green. I only call him on it when he has holes in his polo shirt or frayed pants-bottoms, and will be going out in public.

John & Ellie Patterson here are like Jon Arbuckle & Liz Wilson of “Garfield”: she’s the fashion police officer and he’s the fashion criminal.

“A virtuous woman whocan find? For her price is greater than rubies.” Proverbs 32. Jon is blessed to have a good woman in Ellie, as are we all.

And yet, Elly’s the one who got all bent out of shape the one time that John criticized her wardrobe choice. Hypocritical much, Elly?

@gmartin997 – Hard to fire the man who owns and runs his own business as John does.

I once knew a man who was both red/green and blue/orange color blind. I could always tell when his wife hadn’t chosen his clothes for the day.

And I have two daughters who think they are a first sergeant when it comes to how I dress.

@Ken Warner: there are only 31 chapters in the book of Proverbs. (perfect for reading one every day of the month)

John’s an independent professional with his own business. Inappropriate to give him a hard time for being late.
