Popularity is overrated

Coloring for Michael is inconsistent again — and doesn’t match yesterday’s.

I did that once in Jr. Hi. It was dumb…I didn’t mean it.

Hey, a lot of stuff we do in our young years is dumb. Just takes us 20 or so years to realize it.

It’s fun watching the relationship between Michael and Deanna. They eventually married.

Don’t worry about it, Michael. You’ll be married to her in about 15 years.

I don’t think it’s really being “popular”. Mike just likes her and is being teased about it. Popularity has such a desired status when you’re young.

Replacing it with — produces: Lynn’s Notes:I hear folks talking about kids and their relationships, and it surprises me when they say that real “love” doesn’t happen until you’re physically mature. I disagree. I remember being head over heels “in love” with a boy in my grade three class. I remember it clearly, and the feeling was as strong and as passionate as if I was 16. I had no concept of the physical stuff then — but the desperate need to be near him and to be cared for in return was overwhelming. Likewise, his rejection was painful and devastating. I hated him for showing my notes to his friends and I said so. Like Deanna Sobinski, he was attractive and popular, and he made me feel that I wasn’t good enough. Poor Deanna. It’s devastating when the boy you like says that he hates you.

Boys are like a pack of wolves. (And so are a lot of men). They follow the leader. If the leader says to do something and to hate someone, the rest of the pack obeys him.

In our group, I was the youngest. If you were about 5 – 6 yrs old, the 10 year olds wouild tease you if you liked girls. Funny thing, a few years later they were the ones chasing girls!(Guess they just wanted them all for themselves?)

question #1: maybe you’re other Lynn’s Notes posts didn’t have that sort of special character. I remember an earlier multi-paragraph one that you could only post the first paragraph. I suspect there was something in the 2nd one that blocked it.question #2: experience.
