Looks like the other comments missed the point. I think Lynn Johnston’s comic strip is the most thoughtful of all comic strips consistently. And may I add the most brilliant too.
I love this strip but can’t believe the picture they are using as a logo. The two of them have never looked like that in any strip I’ve ever seen…. and they just look stoooopid (stupid). Please put a more pleasing picture back up for lead-in (logo).
With the exception of “Momma loves you!”, I don’t “baby-talk” to my dog. I talk to her in the same language I use to talk to another person . . . after all, my dog is the smartest dog in the whole world and she absolutely, positively, without a doubt understands every single word I say to her at ALL times!!!!! ;-)
P.S.: My dog hates baths too. Thank goodness she only weighs between 8 and 9 lbs., otherwise, she’d be just about impossible to bathe at home in our kitchen sink the way we do. Saves us a lot of money that way!

A bow on a MALE dog’s head? That’s a bit too much.

I remember when Farley was the size of a mouse.

I just love his expression when she’s hugging him. So cute!

I used to have to strip off down to a pair of shorts when I gave my dogs a bath. I’d get every bit as wet as they did.

She officially went over the top when she put perfume and a bow on the dog.

Yeah, anything that doesn’t perform a function (i.e. a sweater on a small dog in freezing weather) is too much.

We had a male poodle as I was growing up and whenever we had his hair cut they put a bow in his hair. No perfume though.

His eyes are always staring out, not like most Sheepdogs I’ve met.

Elly’s so maternal to Farley. She can be mean to her kids at times.
