Poor Elly, she’s going to be inundated by her family at the airport…but, at the same time she will be ecstatic to see them. Unfortunately, Michael and Elizabeth are already warming up as they get back in the groove…;)
Just wait ’til Elly sees what waiting for her when she walks in the door—dishes(not done for a week), laundry(piled on the washer) and the house not having been dusted or vacuumed for the entire time she has been gone. WHAT A MESS ! ! !
When we had just one, we’d get compliments when we went out to eat. Then the headcount went to 2, 3, 4;When people stare at you and smile, you’re OK.When they look and frown, you’ve got problems.(Been there, done that!)
Times have changed, because I see more men involved with the kids and my husband does some of the housework (we don’t refer to it as “helping out”, just doing what needs doing). My father didn’t interact with us much at all, except to yell and punish.

It’s good for all of them to be apart for a little bit. Hopefully, they’ll appreciate each other more.

My mom raised 5 and my half sister raised 6. Family reunions tend to be somewhat crowded and noisy. :-))

Isn’t there some story arc where John goes away and the family realizes how much they miss him?
