I’m from North Bend. No relation to Bend at all, and still a small town with lots of charm right on the coast in Southern Oregon. (Or perhaps I shouldn’t say that on an international forum.)

And I’VE noticed that sports venues bring much less of a return and more problems to a community with the construction phase being rife with graft and favoritism. Then — more than half the seats remain empty except for the extremely rare times that there may be playoffs.

The games are literally unaffordable (unless you’re dealing with college or farm teams), alcohol use is out of control, and more and more assaults are taking place in the name of fandom.

    Stupid…

I still don’t get why John thinks people will throw things at someone with a sign about a community theater. Someone wanting taxes to go up, sure, but a community theater? Most likely, the person will be ignored…

I can’t imagine what RedBaron thinks of Tweety Pie when (s)he drops an anvil on Sylvester!
