I wanted to give Lawrence a challenging situation, and therefore give me something challenging to write about. How was a young boy, accustomed to being in the care of one female adult, going to adjust to a father figure–plus two more adult females in his family?
Didn’t catch the early FBOFW so this is all new for me. I’m hoping the new ‘sisters’ take Lawrence under their wings and shower him with love. A good experience like that would likely shape his relationship with women for the rest of his life.
Actually, this is very funny in a poignant way. I feel for Lawrence – because he’s right. Maybe, maybe not regarding his new dad, but having to live with two older female siblings – and we all know how bossy older teenage sisters can be – plus mom running his life, Lawrence is definitely in for a challenge.
I’m the big sister of my only sibling. My brother is 6 years younger than I am. We were far enough apart that there was no “sibling rivalry” and have been extremely close all our lives. I’m 72 now and he is 66 and I’m still his “big sissy” and always will be.
I don’t remember why the girls came to live with them, but it wasn’t exactly the Brady Bunch!Two teen girls (with attendant emotions all over the place) and a new step-mom. I wouldn’t want to be her for anything!Talking about walking on eggshells for 5 or 8 years!Lawrence truns out ok, but it is an eye opener. Remember when the original strip was written.

Like I kind of said yesterday, my brother and I have five stepsisters and we don’t do that kind of sibling rivalry among each other.
