Phil – if part of you is holding back, find out why then either fully commit or politely back out. Marriages begun in ambivalence to often end in divorce.
When relationships end, everyone gets accusative and judgmental because there are major responsibilities at stake, as well as emotions running high. My dad told me that being in a committed relationship means I become a husband and father (or in certain cases, the patriarch of the clan), but in this day and age all I would need to get out of my responsibilites as a husband and father where no one would judge me would be my name on a certain piece of paper.Me: “That sounds too good to be true Dad. I get out of marriage and my responsibilities and no one judges me? What piece of paper do I need for that?”Dad: “Your death certificate”.

Phil is fully OK with cohabitation but he does not know about marriage? That is some respect for Georgia, and women in general.

If Phil is a Mugwump, does that mean he and Georgia get to be Mamas and Papas later on?
