You need a second bathroom when you have three people 10 or older, and it works mathematically from there.Growing up in a one bathroom house, I can swear to this.
Ah, I don’t know. My boy uses up all our hot water at every shower (he is almost 11), and my husband needs 30-45 minutes in the bathroom every morning. I would get all excited if I had 15 minutes. I am usually dashing in after him for the 5 minute special, on the odd days we have the same schedule.
3 full baths used to be a lot in those days, for a normal-sized house! You’d get 2 1/2 and count yourself lucky.
Those extra bathroom very important. I grew up with one bathroom just two bedroom small home. We just got used to it. Now married bathroom varied with home. Current home has three.
I grew up in a house with nine people and two bathrooms and we survived. However the females (me, Mom and two sisters) knew better than to fuss with hair and makeup in the bathroom mirror. Bathrooms were for using the toilet, showers & baths, brushing teeth and washing face and hands at the sink. Anything primping was done at the bedroom mirrors. (Do people still have vanity mirrors in the bedroom.) Plus I’m pretty sure we were taught to shower or bathe at night, not in the morning when everyone was scrambling to get ready to leave.

Let me guess: one bathroom for Connie and Greg, one for Greg’s daughters, and one for Lawrence.

The only positive of having one bathroom between a family of four or more, is that it encourages early risers !

Three bathrooms in a big old fashioned house with a little old lady living in it, is a stretch of the imagination. But it does make the joke here.

Grew up with one bathroom and 4 of us. I made sure I was the first one up so I could get in there and be done before my dad got in there.
