When suffering the consequences of a poor choice it’s common for people to wish they could go back in time and make the wiser choice instead. When I am tempted to make a poor choice I imagine that I already did, was suffering the consequences, wished that I had it to do over again and got my wish. This perspective helps keep me out of trouble.
In my opinion (agree?) this arc was one the best three of the strip. #1 was the canoe incident. No,. 3 is years away – our local paper (Quincy Herald Whig) didn’t start carrying this strip until April came along. So, there may be more surprises ahead. Some arguments in Mikes favor:The tree was on his property. No optical aids (binoculars) were used.(I lived in the country, and nearest houses were at least a quarter mile away, so I never had this temptation presented)
As my Momma told when I was a kid, “You can’t do anything that I won’t find out about!”. She was right!! One day when school was out, I went to a free showing of Planet of the Apes and ran into someone my mother knew…..
This has been a great FBOFW arc with many valuable lessons for all of us! Here are a few of my favourites, not in any hierarchical order.1.Peek through windows from the inside to the outside only.2.Dont present crazy ideas as theories unless you google it first.3.By today’s standards most ten year olds from the 1980’swould be considered sexual predictors,at least according to many go-comics commenters.4. Today’s generation of kids are unlikely to get caught in trees spying through windows because today’s kids don’t know how to climb trees.

Like I figured, Michael has no sense of right or wrong. Only self interest. He’d be a great politician.

When he gets older, he will be a nice responsible husband & father, as we’ve seen.

Lynn is pretty good at deciphering pre-teen boy think for a woman. Wonder how many sons/nephews she has suffered thru? ;-)

Ah yes. Repentance: sorrow and regret, not for having done the deed, but for having been caught.

Our mother always told us to never do anything we’d be ashamed to tell her about. And it worked.

Funny, when I was grounded I wasn’t allowed out much less hang outside with my friend.
