My grandmother had a cat like that. She called him " In again-out again, Finnigan " !

Heinlein wrote a story about a cat like that. It’s called “Door into Summer” named after the cat who went to all seven doors in the house if it was raining, and made him open all of them to prove it was raining outside them all.

As I heard the story, it was in winter and the cat went from door to door crying pitieously but then refusing to go out in the nasty weather. Heinlein’s wife said, “He’s looking for the door into summer.” Heinlein responded, “Say no more!” and wrote the story.

My dad used to say that cats were born on the wrong side of a door. We have three cats, each of which is a testament to that comment.

Elly lets her dog out to menace the neighbourhood (again). When will she learn?

Lynn’s Notes:What you don’t see on this screen door is the pattern and the holes made by the dog and the kids wanting to get in. (don’)

My old orange tom, has his routine down pat! He goes out at night, about 7PM and signals that he wants in around 11 PM; has a snack and immediately wants to go back out. He wants in about 7:30 AM then spends the rest of the day in his chosen spot to sleep. When the weather in Houston is going to be really cold (not too often here) he stays in at night and we don’t get much sleep.
