When you say “none of them meant anything” you’re talking to the wrong person Ted.;/

What part of “forsaking all others” are you having problems with Ted? Do you really expect your wife to just overlook your breaking your vows? What if the shoe were on the other foot and she was the one cheating? Huh????

They didn’t mean anything individually, but collectively they did. Gestalt.

Yes, they did. They meant that you didn’t feel that your wife was enough for you.

Ted needs to style his hair differently and get an orange spray tan…

So, that is how men justify cheating a bit on the side? Interesting. I’d still leave his sorry ash. ; )

If they didn’t mean anything, why did you… ?

I hope his soon-to-be ex-wife gets a great lawyer, and has hard evidence, and takes that jerk to the cleaners.

Then he can limp back to one of those other women, and see if he means anything to them.

Ted should have gotten a sports car. IT can “mean something.” The wife may care but won’t leave you.

Ted wants the security of a wife at home who will both take care of him and adore him no matter what he does. And he wants the excitement of having a new woman in his life on a regular basis (not to mention the ability to drop her whenever it’s convenient).

    .

I’d tell Ted that if he’s not interested in monogamy, he should marry a woman who’s okay with that. No harm, no foul. But there are two problems with that plan: 1) She’s probably not going to be interested in monogamy either; and 2) She’s probably not going to be the type who lives to adore and take care of someone. She’d be a person who can stand on her own two feet — and expect the adults around her to do the same.

From an old advice column: Lady knew her husband was sleeping around, but as long as he was bringing home his paycheck – no problem!

Anyone else remember a hit song of the 50s “Keep it a Secret”?
