I would hate to see Michael even more embarrassed when he tries complimenting or insulting the English teacher with the thesaurus where the teacher already knows those words’ definitions.

Lawrence thinks they are successful, but the results would seem to indicate that he is wrong.

Result 1 – Brad Luggsworth attacked Michael for saying the words. He clearly knew he was being insulted.

Result 2 – Unlike Brad, Janice does not attack Michael after being insulted, but maybe she is the kind of girl who after being insulted, leaves the people alone figuring that they are not worth her time.

Result 3- Brian knows what the words mean.

Michael should be glad that he talked to Brian before he insulted Mrs. Maloney.

Does Michael know the definition of “mean”? He should.

I have to tell you that my brother did this about 45 years ago. Sadly, he remembered all those words and to this day, loves to throw them around to let people know how “smart” he is. Of course, he doesn’t come across as smart. I’m sure you can figure out what most people think of him. I hope this is a short phase, Michael!

It seems more likely failure to under mathematics would cause Michael to flunk math, not using voluminous words. :)

The version of this that was going around my high school several decades ago was: “Do you approve of premarital interdigitation?” Most of the kids who answered said, “No, of course not!”, and were then laughed at.

Micheal would benefit in more ways than one to learn words that build people’s confindences rather than tearing them down.

Lord, I remember the fashion Janice is wearing. The eighties had one of the worst fashion trends ever. The singers dressed even worse. Remember Madonna? MJ in his sequined epauletted jacket. The patterned and flowered jeans made a comeback in the stores now. We’re recycling the eighties fashions.

I knew most of those words and some of them even describe how Michael is behaving. He needs to learn complimentary words, not just insulting ones.
