    Weston is a street going north and south

    Southcott is a street going east and west.

    At the intersection with Weston, Southcott is divided into Southcott Street West and East

    With those street names going the opposite direction of their names, Mr. Pervrett’s lawyer is not doing too badly.

    For a real challenge, try looking at the number of roads named “Peachtree” in downtown Atlanta. Elly’s town’s roads are simple in comparison

    Lawyerly terminology is so confusing – understandable only among the law enforcement and Justice peeps which was a clever thing of Pervrett to hire one and a mistake on Elly’s part to try and save money. She should have just paid the ticket – cost her a lot less. Pervrett apparently could afford a lawyer AND the ticket. Actually, this scene doesn’t say WHO got the ticket. If it was Elly, Pervrett wouldn’t have to show up, so why is HE in court?

    Lynn’s Notes:

    The other driver’s lawyer really did deliver an explanation like this. It was impossible to understand and yet the judge kept nodding as if it was all perfectly clear.

    Why is Ellie still in the audience? Shouldn’t she be at an opposing table to the attorney?

    Where as to wit…the party of the first part, hereafter known as McPherson, has no chance against the party of the second part,hereafter known as Pervrett….because she doesn’t know how to speak “legal gibberish”! ;o{

    As Marshal Rooster Cogburn said in True Grit “We had a good court going here until those damn pettifogging lawyers showed up.”

    The lawyer’s description is precise, logical, and clear to me, as if drawing a map. I can’t make sense of Elly’s comment. What am I missing?

    so Pervert was trying to pass the bus as it was turning? That means he entered the intersection after El.

    I get that most days — if the oncoming vehicle and I are both turning left, is the next vehicle in line going to wait or suddenly go around and come at me while I’m part way through my turn?
