What did Mike and Lizzie have in mind instead?

Now they have to go make breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Considering what they go through to get us all through our youth alive and well, EVERY day should be Mother’s day. God bless you Mom.

I’ve gone through several strips, and this is the first mention of Mother’s Day. Happy Mother’s Day Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are.

My son just woke me up and told me to open my present before breakfast. I suspected it was coffee. Yep. Happy Mother’s Day!

Well, Fathers Day is a good day to get the kids to do the cooking. That’s what my Mom always said.

If the kids won’t help out every now and again, why should John go to the dentist’s office every day to earn the money to put food on the table, keep the lights on, put gas in the car, get clothes for the kids, stave off repossession of the house, or buy toys for the kids?

Maybe hard at work in the office so he can pay for a Mother’s Day present and take Mom out to brunch !

In the last panel, Connie thinks the kids taking their father’s suggestion and actually doing it is hysterically funny and so funny she has to use her hands to cover both of her possible reactions to laughing really hard.

The fact that they are doing it and competently is amazing, regardless of their motivation.
