This is either a slam to the grandma or to Elly to both, that Elizabeth has such a lack of consideration for a handmade gift. I can’t figure out which it is.

When I was younger, my grandmother gave me jogging sets for Christmas for a few years. I loved them, and wore them until I grew out of them.

Someone has to keep warm if they’re outside all the time.

Well, technically, somebody IS wearing them. Nobody said it had to be Elizabeth!

Kids never want to wear hats and scarves, do not know why?

Sadly, they weren’t worn and they definitely weren’t appreciated.

My mom was a wonderful knitter. She was even accused of using a knitting machine, so she started making a mistake at a certain place on purpose to prove her it was hand-made by her. She knitted a beautiful fisherman’s wool sweater for my sister, who said it was too tight and wanted my mom to redo. My mom asked me if I wanted it and I have it to this day. I knit but I’ll never be half as good as she was. Happy Thanksgiving y’all!

Well, I mean really. Does Grandma think she is a General or a Wizard? Besides, the snowman looks great.

I walk to work 15 minutes each morning before the sun rises, and I’d love to wear that hat and scarf.

I took a knitting class long time ago (40+ years). I wanted to learn everything at once, so I chose a pattern set for my daughter’s doll that had a had a scarf, hat with a pom-pom, coat with pockets, and socks. We had a funny teacher in that, even though she was supposed to be teaching, she didn’t want to give out all the knitting “secrets” since I needed a lot of help with my knitting what with increasing and decreasing and all the edges, and the pockets, etc., while the rest of the class were making afghans and scarfs… I thought I’d show her, and went to the library and found other knitting books for hints for those problems. I finished that set and everyone in the class was amazed how much work I put into it. We still have that doll and she’s dressed in that outfit. Now my granddaughter is playing with her…

It’s just a gag to make people laugh. Did Lynn’s notes say that this was taken from real life or not?

MY favorite stocking cap is a naal-bound one my wife made me 15 or so years back. Next favorite is one she made me the year before.
