Oh for heaven’s sake, put her in the playpen in the kitchen! Show some thinking of your own, just don’t copy your mom’s way to make things harder so she can complain about it!
Why do they have April on their backs when they cook? Put her in a playpen with toys, or in her bouncy swing. Elly seems to carry her around all the time. No wonder it takes her a long time to walk.
You know, I don’t understand why LJ created Michael to be such an a$$. I love the family aspect of the strip, but not this sibling hatred. Michael’s behaviors are beyond the border of annoying and are squarely in dysfunctional.
Seems a bit much to ask of a 10 or 11 year old…can’t remember Elizabeth’s age, but handling a baby and fixing dinner is a little overboard for grade school kids. And, yes, Michael should be told he has to help.

If I didn’t know Mike is going to turn out to be a decent person, I could really hate him at this age.

Elizabeth is taking the time to goover the recipe. For her attention to detail, she is to be commended.
