Some parents, grandparents, step parents, aunts and uncles live in a land of “If only”. No matter what a kid becomes, be it a gender thing, a profession thing or a life-style thing, it is not what they think the kid should be. They just can’t accept that idea that the person living the life is the only one who can decide what makes them feel happy, successful, fulfilled.
A friend from work constantly complained about one of his daughters, whom he hadn’t seen for over ten years. “She was so smart, she would have made a great doctor!” After listening to this mantra for months, I finally asked where his daughter was and what was she doing. Turns out she was living in Laurelhurst (ritzy suburb of Seattle), had her own graphic arts company, was married to a lawyer, and had two children. I commented that it sounded like she had done pretty well on her own, had a pretty successful and fulfilling life, and it was a real shame that he was missing out on being a part of it. A few months later, he came into my office and told me he had asked his daughter to come for the holidays and she agreed to come.

It looks to me as they are thinking of planting each other in/(or maybe under) the ground with those looks.

If Greg is still mad at Lawrence for being gay I hope that tent that Mike was throwing around in that Sunday strip hits Greg in the head.
