I wonder if Jeremy Duncan’s lousy posture comes from his reading this strip and looking at Elly.

Stamped self-addressed envelopes? Now he has no excuse not to write.

But Mom. How can I be expected to do anything about my return while I’m making out with my girlfriend in the middle of the street?

Oh jeez.

My mother didn’t stop doing some things for me until she stopped for good, if you know what I mean…

That is ironic in this comic strip that Elly is Michael’s servant. Why doesn’t she accompany her son to college, and he’ll always have everything done for him. Of course, there will be moaning and groaning from Ellie that she’ll never get a break from all the work!

Once in a while some really odd, freaky, unexplainable things happen on FBOFW.

Michael has a long grown beard in the first three panels. Yet in the fourth panel in the few seconds that Elly speaks, Michael has shaved the right side of his face clean almost up to the chin! You can easily see his clean skin. Yet at the same time, (third panel) the clean shaven dad has gotten Mike’s right side beard transferred to his right side like if he had a long Elvis Presley sideburn!

Why is Michael leaving so early? Most colleges don’t start Spring term until late January.

Our son never truly grew up until we cut the money off.

Good ol’ Mom… she takes of almost everything. And then John asking if Elle got Mike’s bus ticket too… Like Father like son….

His bus ticket was your job.

The last two panels are very representative of this comments section. Somebody makes an, obviously, sarcastic comment about the presented situation, followed by all the people who take it as serious.

I doubt she will do this for Elizabeth when she goes away. Mothers who have sons and daughters tend to spoil the sons more.

Does this mean she won’t be taking his exams for him?

He sure didn’t do much while he was home.

Doesn’t seem like there are too many mothers today that do what Elly does although I could be wrong…

When Michael goes to war, Elly hands him his shield and says “You either come back with it or on it!”
