So—we have a day in the life of Dr. John Patterson. Now, he can go home to the bosom of his (yelling, whining, barking) family!

I always thought that maybe after all the patients left, there might be some cleaning or putting things back in their places; but apparently not. I guess the dentist just gets to walk right out after the last patient is gone. Sounds like a great job.

Good to see a thread about John at work.

German has a word for the rush: Feierabend. (fire-ah-bent)

With it snowing, becareful as you and others rush down the road..

My dentist of many years retired about a year ago. After he left, a hygienist told me that a primary reason for his leaving is that the years of being hunched over patients had taken a bad toll on his back.

Until that moment, it never occurred to me that a medical profession also had a physical price to pay. Blind of me, I guess.

Isn’t this when John’s car goes off the icy highway and down an embankment, and they don’t find his body until spring?

I surely wish that Ms. Johnston would come out of cartoonist’s retirement.

i was emergency crew for vdot, first responder, equipment operator/wrecker driver. it was like being paid to play with real live “Tonka Toys”. i loved it!

When you work a 12-hour day, you feel no rush to do anything afterward…except SLEEP!!
