There was a movie called “Every Little Crook and Nanny” with Vanessa (or maybe Lynn) Redgrave and, I think, Austin Pendleton in the early 70s. It was a fun movie.
The line is a great spoonerism.
But back to the comic, Runs with Beer is right. The Gospel should be spread to every crook and nanny as well as every nook and cranny.
Why would you want to spread the gospel to every nook in cranny? I would think that crooks and nannies would be much more logical at least they are alive.
Where suppose to spread the message to all crooks and nannies. The comical side of the Pastor saying spread to every nook and cranny would not go anywhere.

I just toasted some Thomas’s and my smoke detector smelled those crooks and nannies.
