When I was young I was on the swings when I saw my father driving away. I ran down the street crying and a guy in a car asked if I wanted help. I told him I couldn’t go with strangers and when I got back to the park my father, who’d just been moving the car, had wondered where I went.

My mother really did that to me when I was 8. I thought I was gong to get in trouble when the sheriff took me home, but I never expected CPS to rescue me from her.
