Jason: I'd much rather you did something painless like take away my computer for a month. Please don't make me eat Ding Dongs! Roger: Fine. We'll take away your computer. Jason: My computer?? Roger: What'd you say? Two months? Jason: So much for reverse psychology.
The trouble with using that approach on grown-ups is that most grown-ups have already heard the Brer Rabbit story.
