Jason: My bank desperately needs an infusion of capital. I was hoping you give me one or two billion dollars. I know you probably can't really afford that, but I figure you could just put it on a credit card. Roger: Remind me why we encourage our kids to watch the news. Jason: Dad, some guy from Visa's on the phone.

Sorry Bill (IF you actually read these occasional posts), but I don’t find this funny. Your past exercises in social commentary have been amusing - this is just real life recreated via your apple images to do what? Depress those of us who might have seen/read “MaxedOut” but still are in a difficult situation not of our fault?

@Groaner: No, I think it’s simpler than that. He’s simply commenting on the insanely foolish bailout that just about everyone else in existence has been commenting on.

Ditto, ZZ.

Sure, just get two billion dollar bills and place them in the piggy bank. It won’t fit if they’re in 20s.

Now we know why the credit card companies are having trouble. Crediting Jason’s piggy bank with 2 billion was probably not a wise investment.

Groaner, I think you’re taking it a bit too personally. It’s not about people using credit cards - it’s about our gov’t taking out trillions upon trillions of dollars, which don’t even exist, to repair a problem that had to do with bad lending practices. Putting yourself into debt to take yourself out of debt doesn’t make any sense - and that is common sense. The fact that we would find it absurd were our own children to do it is a great example and I find it very funny personally.

Groaner, I also think you are taking this too personally. I do think it refers to the government and the current plan.
However, speaking as someone who is teetering on the brink of bankruptcy….it was my own fault. Living frugally rather than excessively would have prevented my mess. Seems like many of us don’t learn that until it is too late.
And yet, I still find this comic funny.
