In the future when he goes in for a job interview, I would hate to see what kind of haircut Jason wants.

I actually wouldn’t care if my son wanted double mohawks and the words I love homework shaved into the back of his head. The irony is, he’d never go for it.

I would be mortified to be in public with a haircut like that.

Having grown up in the ‘60s with a very conservative father who cut our hair himself (and learned his barbering in the Marine Corps), I always told my boys "It’s your hair; you can wear it however you want. But I reserve the right to mock you if it looks stupid."They never got too weird (which kind of disappointed me…)

I remember a story online. Teenager had been using the stuff that was sprayed on the hair and then you sit in the sun to make blonde streaks. (This was apparently back in the 70s) Hair streaks come in orange. Girl doesn’t think it looks too bad, but mother goes nuts and drags her to a hairdresser to have the orange spots cut out. Hairdresser hacks out orange streaks. Girls hair winds up looking like a wig attacked by a three-year-old with scissors. Right before yearbook pictures. Girl informs Mom, with the glare of death, that she has given up any right to make decisions about daughter’s hair ever again.

Took me until my twenties to realize that the only thing that kept “the lady glaring at me pretty much constantly with no discernable sense of humor” from killing me was the fact that she did, in fact, have one.
