As if that heat couldn’t help sweat some pounds of Roger’s belly? GEEZ! (When I try to go out running, I just get out of breath after either one quarter of a lap or one street block.)
It’s finally out of triple digits in Phoenix and I’m able to do my exercise walking outside for the first time since May. It was 77 degrees when I got up this morning…heading for a mere 94…WOO HOO!
I know that early strips seemed to place the strip in the San Francisco area (later ones place it closer to Chicago), where it really was one of the hottest summers on record, right after one of the wettest winters on record
Walking is much more sustainable, Roger. You should try what I did: Get 70,000 steps a week and refuse to get anything less for a year. (And after I hit that next week, I’m going for a second)

sadly, with the abundance and ease of access of tech gadgets, kids today don’t find running around outside during summer a worthwhile pursuit, either.

I wish it would cool down; for the next week it’ll be hotter than it was in August.

We actually hit double digits this week! You don’t know how good it feels to work in less-than-hundred-degree heat!

I lived in Phoenix several years, into late high school. Back then I didn’t think much of doing a marathon in the summer heat.
Today, I definitely don’t think much of doing a marathon in the summer heat, and I’m not even in Phoenix!
Amazing how different the meaning is in those two almost identical sentences.
