Jeez Andy. It’s not bad enough you get upset your kids enjoy video games but now when they get creative and make up their own?

Now I wanna play Easter egg dominoes.

One of the measures of intelligence is the desire and ability to just play.

Let them have some fun. Maybe, just maybe they might be able to make their adult life into a fun game too. It would sure beats all the sourpusses that I see all around me.

I used mismatch the halves of plastic Easter eggs all the time when I was Jason’s age. Never thought of making a game out of it. (I guess I’ve never really seen the point of competition.)

Interesting adaptation for the pagan imagery of the Oestra egg. (Meant to symbolize fertility). Especially since dominoes originally were based off of a fortune telling Oracle dating back to Egypt circa 1400 BC

One game all the adult men in our family would play when I was a kid was to put one of the hard boiled Easter Eggs on a blanket out in the yard. All the men (my uncles, dad, etc.) would each have a pocket full of pennies. Each would take a turn at trying to throw a penny – edge wise – into the egg. The one who finally got a penny to stick into the egg cleanly (edge first), was able to pick up all the pennies which had been tossed. As a kid, we watched a lot. When my siblings & I grew up, we played the same game with our dad, a few uncles and cousins. We no longer do that, but it is an Easter Memory. Happy Easter.

Easter egg hunting on Easter is for weenies. Try finding those eggs in the summer when you are trimming a shrub, and it’s had months to rot in the sun. You have to pull it out oh so carefully so it doesn’t explode, then what do you do with it? Throw it? A garbage can? Let it just sit there? My brother hid candy for his kids. I found a two-year-old chocolate Crabby Patty from SPONGE BOB. Gross but not that gross.

Life’s a game all you have to know is how to play it, your biggest problem is the rules keep changing.

I remember dying real hard-boiled eggs to make an egg that was one-half one color, and one-half another. I’d dip half the egg into yellow dye, say, followed by putting the entire egg into red dye, thus creating an egg that was half red and half orange. I was maybe 10 years old and very impressed with my own creativity.
