    Squirrels often eat pumpkins where I live. Even the carved pumpkins. One thing to remember, when a pumpkin is old, orange, and useless. It is orange on the outside, rotting on the inside, and we throw it out in early November. Keep that in mind. Thrown out the old pumpkin.
