We used to own a PhoneMate answering machine back in 1985. It used regular sized cassette tapes to record the outgoing message (a 30 second loop tape) and your incoming messages. I think I still have it out in the garage somewhere. I used to enjoy this strip for the humor. Now I enjoy it for the humor AND the nostalgia…
