I never liked Brussels sprouts either until I had ‘em as a side dish at a bar and liked them. I’ve since experimented and it’s not hard to make them quite tasty, even without adding any oil (or bacon). I make them “Simon and Garfunkel” style – I slice them in half and cook them on a grill at high heat, seasoning them with parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme. I cook them until they’re crispy and blackened. Delicious.
I’ve learned from the one time that my mom bought brussels sprouts, that you shouldn’t boil them, and when my mom did that, both my dad and I ran out of the house to get away from the smell.

Even I like those golf-ball-sized cabbages from Belgium.

I never liked Brussels sprouts until I had ones that were seasoned right and not over-cooked. I still consider clams to be giant boogers.

Brussels sprouts are great when roasted with a little olive oil, a squeeze of lemon, freshly ground black pepper, and a touch of cilantro…

Kids being kids here, I guess. (No matter what their actual age is …) But, yeah—it made me laugh out loud.
Thanks for the Muppet video, Nab. Good one.
