I read a study in Scientific American. They gave people of all ages the opportunity to take a nap in the middle of the day and measured the time it took for the brain waves associated with sleep to appear. If the person stayed awake for 20 minutes, the score was 20 and the test was terminated..
Not unsurprisingly, older people had lower scores than younger people and the most alert people on the planet were 14-year-old girls. Paige must be the exception.
Although they might be awake, they aren’t necessarily in contact with the reality going on around them if there is anything to casual observation.
