Shooting with the camera angled up as it is does make Kong appear taller.

And that dinosaur is the evolved T-Rex as the ultimate land predator V-Rex. They have this odd need to eat human flesh even if their bellies are full.

The Vastatosaurus Rex (Ravager-Lizard-King) was an antagonist in King Kong. An evolved descendant of the ancient Tyrannosaurus Rex that lived after the Cretaceous, this species was the largest terrestrial predator found on Skull Island, reaching a height of over 22 feet at the hip, measuring over 50 feet long (according to the World of Kong book). The weight of the Vastatosaurus Rex probably outclassed its predecessor, Tyrannosaurus Rex.
