    Maybe it’s like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, where it turns out that some impurities in the salts in the formula were the actual cause of the transformation, and when he gets a better source, he can’t transform anymore…

    Not just chemistry, but Biochemistry. And the DNA mutating type. So grad school level. Or at least Xavier’s School for Gifted Children level.

    Had chemistry in high school and microbiology in college, but I believe the above problem could only be solved in advanced home economics.
