I have been seeing (in the few times I get out) and hearing that there seem to be more crazy drivers than ever out on the roads – ignoring stop lights and stop signs, speeding way above the limit, weaving around cars – it seems like they are everywhere. She said someone online said, it’s not that there are more crazy drivers, it’s just there are less SANE drivers, so no one out there to keep them in check. They are just more exposed. I thought that sounded logical.
Back in the day, station wagons had enormous 8-cylinder engines for pulling trailers, campers and boats. The cars themselves were heavy so they didn’t have much pickup, but floor the accelerator and the speed would keep climbing. When we were young and foolish, a friend of mine got his mom’s up to 120 mph.
Some of the worst driving I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot, was a red Corvette with an older guy driving it. He thought he was a NASCAR driver weaving in and out of traffic. He would have hit me if I hadn’t hit my brakes. Male menopause at its worst.

You’re safe in that HOV lane. You ever seen the way the pompous pr!cks in Bimmers, Audis, and Porsches drive?

Assuming that the other drivers actually obey the HOV rules, which is a big assumption.
