I had two brothers ahead of me, and I’m sure teachers were worried when they saw my last name because those two were total brats. When my younger sister entered the next year, the teachers were happy to see the last name. We were both good kids.

I was really good at math. My younger brother had a hard time in school as he was not a math person and the teachers kept comparing him to me. I wish they wouldn’t do that. He got solid “B” grades in math but he never competed at state level. My brother, on the other hand can draw, paint and sculpt. My “art” looks like kindergarten stick figures compared to his work. I was into woodworking and he was into metalworking. I can make a desk, he can make all the tools to make the desk. He made my kitchen knives, the knife in my pocket and my hunting knife. I made the handles for the knives. Together we do pretty good work. Oh, if there is wood carving to be done he does it. Handles are desks and drawers are fine, but I cannot carve wood into artistic pieces.

Last year my younger daughter got the same book my older daughter used. They both thought that was a laugh-riot.

My sister that followed me in school once tried to convince a teacher that she was not related to me.
