Somewhere around 1999, my elderly aunt asked me if a “computer virus” was something that people could catch. She was legitimately concerned (knowing that I “worked with computers”) and I had to respectfully assure her that there was no danger.

PSA. The built-in virus protection that comes with windows is more than “good enough” as long as you are more than “smart enough” not to to stupid things on your computer.

The best antivirus software is between the user’s ears.

I thought a good science fiction story could involve a computer virus that gets transmitted to a batch of pharmaceutical product being monitored, and spreads to the general population
